2x² + x - 6 = 0
x = [ - 1 ± √(1 + 48) ] / 4
x = [ -1 ± 7 ] / 4
x = 6 / 4 , x = - 8 / 4
x = 3 / 2 , x = - 2

Factor.
Factor rule: a²+2ab+b²=(a+b)²

2 3
3 6
(2x-3)(3x+6)=0

so...
x=3/2,-6/3
simplifed.
x=3/2,-2

ps. I am right because you can blug in the numbers I've given you and it will always = 0 relative to the given numbers. This is based on the rule.

(3x+6) (2x-3)

because when u factor it out u get

6x^2 - 9x +12x -18

then simplify

6x^2 + 3x - 18

its in the form ax^2 + bx + c= 0

the quad form is something like sq. root of b^2 plus/minus....and so on.

so here a = 6
b=3
and c=-18

now all you gotta do is plug n chug!

goodluck!!

btw, the factoring method mentioned above by someone works well too (actually its easier).

:)
