First you crush it and get rid of the rock then convert the uranium to a gas (uranium hexafloride) then you run the gas though a few thousand cycles of a gas centrifuge to separate the useful U-235 from the useless U-238. Then you convert the concentrated U-235 into metal to machine it for bomb stuff.
As for sources - I learned it in high school and trips to Oak Ridge and Hanford where there are public displays talking about.

Weapons grade uranium is u-236, in order to get that isotope you must use u-235 in a nuclear reactor. With the proccess of nuclear reaction small amounts of u-236 are created, among other things.
