How would you explain no news , is good news

it's any day that i don't get bad news in the mail, by phone, or in an email.

For example, four years ago, my then 17 year old son went to Europe with a school group. We were concerned when he didn't call, but we figured that he was having a good time, and he'd call when he got a chance. That's no news is good news, at least in my view.

hope this answers your question.

Means not hearing anything at all is surely better than hearing bad news, which would likely spread like wild fire if there were any negative news to be reported.

ABSOLUTELY !!! The day my phone DOESN'T ring; or there ISN'T any Bills in the Mail, or there aren't any Mormons or Jehovah Witnesses beating down my door- THAT'S a GOOD day! And THAT'S what "no news- is good news..." means to me! :)

It's like not getting any bills in the mail...a good day.

It's like not hearing of any drive-by shootings or murders on the News...good day.

It's like not hearing Rosie O'Donnell's voice...very good day.
