I am a skinny girl, im 13, im 5'4, and I weigh 95. and im tired of people making fun of me, saying that im weak and I couldnt hurt a fly.....so.........my sister had recently went through a devorce, and move in w/ us.......then she moved out w/ her bf who she is getting married too......and she had her bed frames in the garage, and I decided I was going to lift weights, so I lifted bed frames for about a week....I know, I know, its not normal, BUT yesterday, my dad put them away in the attic!!!! And They wont but me anyweights, because they say I dont need them, and I wont use then......what should I do?

tell them u will
show initiative
and ask for a trip to walmart

that or look around for things that weigh about the same
some lighter some a little heavier and work your way up

First of all there's nothing wrong with a skinny girl - unless you've got some eating disorder. My point is, be happy with who you are.

But if you want to lift weights then do it! It's a great way to keep your bones strengthened and is good for you.

So here's what you do: babysit a couple of times and then go to a sporting goods store and buy some dumbbells. They're usually about 50 cents a pound.

There's a LOT you can do with dumbbells. Push ups are also awesome...

You can use other things for weights, Cans of soup,empty milk cartons, filled with water work well too. Bags of Kitty litter, charcoal, laundry detergent. suitcases just to name a few. Don't forget to do other exercises to. Toe touches, do the laundry, mow the lawn, walk around the block, make he bed, vacuum the floor, Push ups. Ride a bike, go to a park.
Run, climb on the jungle gym. If your family us lucky and has a membership to the Y... use it. If you can join weight lifting club at school do that too.

Ignore them the are not the people who help you. Be confident be more look forward so that nobody hurt you. Don't be afraid your too young only 13 yrs old is not a mature... Be patience the time will come at the age that your mature enough now you found out that your grow as a beautiful lady.

Save your money. Go to an athletic store and buy some small dumbells. They will improve your upper body strength. Also, if you have somewhere that you can hang on, do body lifts. Push ups will also help. Squats will also help your leg strength.
