(x + y + z) + (w + y + z) + (w + x)= 9 + 5 + 2

(* Simplify LHS and RHS *)

2w + 2x + 2y + 2z = 16

(* Divide by 2 *)

w + x + y + z = 8

To find the average " add & divide"

The sum of w, x, y, z is 8
8 divided by the 4 items is 2

c

add eq 1&2 to get :

w+x+2y+2z=14
2+2y+2z=14
y+z=6
w+x+y+z=2+6=8
Avg = 8/4=2

x - w = 4
x + w = 2
2x = 6
x = 3
w = - 1

3 + y + z = 9
y + z = 6
Average of x, y, w, z = (3 - 1 + 6) / 4 = 2
ANSWER (c)
