to make their product? I know that Nike uses child labor, but I don't know who else. I want to make sure I am NOT purchasing items from such companies. Thanks so much!

I really don't know. All I can think of is contacting some of the humanitarian organisations to see if they can give you some info, or point you in the right direction. Do a look of companies do this? I thought it was just Nike, which is why I'll never buy their cr@p. I'll have to look into this now as well. Good question!

The difficulty in finding information lies in each companies desire for the information you're seeking to remain out of the loop, so to speak.

Companies that do business in places like China, Honduras, Guatemala, Chile, Ecuador, India, parts of Africa ... these you should be suspicious of. Just because something says "made in America" doesn't mean it is - it could mean "put together in America but all the parts made in the Dominican Republic".

if they sell it at a major big-box chain (especially Wal-Mart), it's a safe bet they use child labor.
