Depends upon what kind of paint you used. If you used a water based interior latex paint, you can damp-sponge the walls (lightly!) with 1/2 gallon of water and a tablespoon of vanilla extract - after the walls have dried completely. Just dab and move on - don't soak or rub.

Also, you may have to open the windows and put a fan facing out - pulling the air out the room - for a day or two.

Hip tip: next time you go to paint with interior latex, stir in a tablespoon of vanilla (or orange or lemon or your favorite flavor) extract into the paint before you use it on your walls. Sounds silly, but it works.

If you used an oil based paint or enamel paint, all you can do is air the room out and wait. Oil based and enamel paints dry very slowly, sort of from the outside in, so they stink much worse and for much longer than interior latex.

For enamel or oil based paint, time is about all that "cures" it, because those paints need time to cure or competely dry throughout the layers spread on the walls.

You can try getting some of those damp rid containers and setting those around the room. The drier the air is the faster the oil based / enamel paint will cure.

the only real way to rid to smell is with a filtration system that uses carbon the neutralize the air. but thats a 150+ dollar unit at home depot to be able to clear a room out.

your next best bet is just open all windows and get a fan in one blowing OUT of the room.

Sounds crazy but peel off the top layer of a onion, cut in in half leave it out in the open, overnight and the next morning the smell will be gone

Open your windows and put in a couple of fans, it'll go away in a few days.
