Normally, it is okay to have sex at any time during your period. It isn't dangerous or dirty, so if you're both okay with it then don't worry.

Edit: oh, is this a pregnancy question? I see. Well in that case, hie thee to the pharmacy for condoms, or go see the doctor or Planned Parenthood and get some birth control.

If you are having unprotected sex, then a baby is ALWAYS a possibility. The sooner you accept that and take proper precautions, the better. Sex=babies most of the time. If you don't take proper precautions and you aren't okay with the idea of having a child, then you're better of not having sex at all. I'm not being harsh or judgmental, those are just the biological facts :)

Yet another edit: for God's sake, please don't listen to that guy several posts below who said it is bad for the man to have sex while you've got your period. Your guy WILL NOT suffer any bad after-effects from the "hot temperatures" of you vagina. There is not more of a chance of you passing bacteria on to him during this time, either. NOR is there "more of a chance" of becoming pregnant during your period because "the uterus is opened up" (actually there is *less* of a chance, since your time of ovulation has passed, but you should still take precautions as it is still possible).

Wtf, who comes up with this crap?! I hope that guy isn't really any kind of professional, because the stuff he is saying is not all true.

Statistically spekaking, you are unlikely to get pregnant on your period. It's possible, and I know a girl to whom it has happened (only had sex with the guy while on her period but yet had his baby).

Douching has absolutely nothing to do with it as some of the sperm would already be in your cervix almost as soon as he ejaculated (ejaculation is an average of 28mph and your cervix is at most a couple inches away from his penis if he's inside you), and douche does not clean your uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, etc. It's not good for you anyway, but it definitely doesn't prevent pregnancy.

No time is 100% safe.

Douching is not good for you, and likely flushed the sperm higher up to your cervix. Hint.... if you absolutely do not want to get pregnant, then you should always assume that it is possible to get pregnant, no matter where you are in your cycle. Otherwise you may end up with a little surprise.

never douche on your period. yes you could get pregnant . how about see your doctor for birth control and use condoms instead of worrying about safe days,

douching is bad period. never douche it destroys the vaginas natural ph balance.. douching washes away the good bacteria that kills the bad stuff my doctor says never ever douche showering with soap and water is all you need

Why not just use a condom. Douching is bad for you unless you absolutely need it. You should be fine but there is always that slim chance. Just use a condem for gods sake. It's not that bad.

it COULD be safe. usually the safest would be approx 10 days BEFORE you get your period as there are some instances when one is already fertile even before their period ends.

research on the billings method to find out more.
