I just bought a male Betta today,3-4 hours ago and it keeps staying at the bottom...it only comes up to eat and to flare at other male bettas.

It should be fine after it settles in. If it's eating it's ok. Thats just a travel shock reaction.

I assume it's not in the same tank with other male bettas on it a position it will see other males for long periods of time. Neither situation is good for him. Tanked with another male will end up with one of them dead. Placed so that he can always see other males will end up with highly stressed fish.

It's going to be fine. Your betta is getting used to his new environment - he has a bigger home, new ornaments surrounding him, new things to look at outside his tank and most importantly, new water parameters to get used to. It's a lot for him to take in all at once. So it's normal for him to be sort of overwhelmed. Don't worry if he refuses to eat, either; it's due to the same reason. You can fast him for a couple of days at first, just to let his system get adapted; many experienced betta owners recommend this with newly purchased bettas. Don't worry, bettas can go without food for a week completely unharmed, so you won't be doing him any damage.

Thats pretty much what a betta does, especially at evening/night hrs. They also do this if they have new surroundings. As long as he's flaring at other males (who are hopefully in OTHER tanks lol) he should be fine. If he's laying on his side, or clamping his tail fins you could have a sick fella, but doesn't sound like it.

dont worry it is fairly common to have a betta not be extremely active, as long as he doesnt look like he is having a hard time swimming, like spinning in circles or tilting from side to side, he should be fine.

No male beta should be in the same tank or jar of water. They will fight one another until one of them is dead. If your container is big enough put a divider in it to separate them.
