so...what do u think is the secret to a good/happy marriage/relationship?

We just married two months ago. At that time a good friend of mine who has been married for over 40 years said to me that the secret to a successful marriage is for both partners to allows give 65% to the relationship. That way he explained there is always 30% left for love when times get tough. I liked this analogy and will attempt to practice it with my new wife. But also good open communication will help a relationship, even when your saying something that the other might not agree with. Being open and honest when talking is the secret in my opinion.

reasonable expectations is the key. if you expect to be happy ever after without any effort from your side, you are doomed to get disappointed. successful relationship takes a lot of work. also, good sex is very important.

honestly, everyone wants a "sweet happy ending" and what not, but in reality, its not true. i believe that arguments (meaning you fight and you apologize to each other and its okay sorta thing) bring people closer to each other. as long as both partners trust each other and have faith in each other itll last forever(:
