I'm 37 weeks pregnant with my second child and each time I see the midwife they tell me my baby is breech, but when I go to see my Ob, he tells me bubby is in the head down position. I'm very confused as to who to believe, not to mention worried as to why he hasn't turned. My first child was head first but he was very big, resulting in a c-section, I'm booked in for another c-section with 2nd bub, but I'm just so confused as to who is right and I was wondering if there was any way to tell which postion he's in. I read to much and am worried there may be something wrong. Should i ask for an ultrasound to make sure and to ease my mind?

i'm a little confused why the midwife and OB's opinions differ...i doubt your baby is breech one time, and head down another time...usually when they're head down, they stay head down...i wouldn't be too concerned since you're having a c-section anyway...i guess, to ease your mind you could get an ultrasound...most insurances companies only pay for one ultrasound, unless medically necessary...if your OB doesn't think your baby is breech, then s/he won't order an ultrasound...i wouldn't be too upset...just relax, you're almost at the finish line...best wishes to you!

Yes Yes Yes that is normal I know because the same thing happened to me and the only difference is the midwife and the doctor were arguing about in front of me so they did and ultrasound and he was breech and his bum was being mistaken for his head thats why they sometimes thought he was the right way up. They couldnt feel his feet cause they were stuck in my pelvis (very uncomfortable) there is no way to tell. They tried to turn him around but thats when they discovered I had severe allergies to some medications and his feet were stuck not fun either. You can request an ultrasound or they may do it anyway. Good Luck with your second c-section.

I'm sure everything is fine and sounds like your doctor and midwife are convinced also or they would be ordering an ultrasound before you could request one. Since you have to have another c-section anyways, why worry about it?? In a few short weeks you will be holding your new baby worrying about much bigger things... chill out mom all is well.

It could be that your baby keeps turning. Mine did all the way until I was in labor. I wouldn't worry about it if you are going to have another c-section because it doesn't matter where he is since you aren't going to have to push him out. But if you are trying to not go threw the c section again, then you can ask the doctor or mid wife to try and turn the baby before you deliver him vaginally

That's so strange that 2 different professionals are giving you different opinions! If I were you I'd ask for an ultrasound due to the conflicting info...definitely something to look into! Good luck!

when i was 35 weeks, my doctor wasn't 100 percent sure and she went and got the ultrasound machine to check. I would have definitely asked for one if she wouldn't have done it. Sometimes doctors will be nice and not make you pay for it.

if you are having a section it dosen't matter what position the baby is in, but you can ask for an ultrasound. You may have to pay for it if your insurance won't cover it.

an acupuncturist can help.... there is a point Bladder 67 on the pinky toe bottom outside corner of the toenail.... this point is supposed to be very effective for breech babies.... even using strong finger pressure.... but i would wait until you are a little closer.... good luck!
