Yess I just made my character and everything, I don't think I reallly downloaded it before? But it says "downloading" to asalon city and it's taking a while. Is it liek that the first time or is it going to be like this EVERY time I try to play?

Yeah, the very first load will be massive because it's loading, like, 2 years worth of pure gameage.

Did you install from CDs or are you downloading the entire game from the online site. The CDs don't contain everything on them however. Like most MMO games, the game is continually being updated and changed by the developers. Since this is the first time you've played, you're getting hit with all the updates.
It's not like this every time you play, but you will need to occasionally download new content. (Probably about once a week or so). However these downloads won't be as bad as this first one. Most will take less than a minute.

Guild Wars is being developed by ArenaNet, a subsidiary of NCsoft. Rather than have a continuous beta ArenaNet hold Beta weekends, where pre-ordered players and invited friends are allowed to test the game. This weekend was one such event and I was lucky enough to be invited along.

I am new to MMO's and since I am confortable using 360 controller for player movement. Is it possible to change control scheme onto 360 controller (windows-pc)? I try to search but I dont see nothing coming up! Your help would be appreciated. thanks!
