Do you think it's money, or that he just doesn't want to play for poor old Oakland?

He's probably not looking forward to getting sacked nine times a game next season because he's behind the worst O-line in football...

I don't blame him, if I were him I would be doing the same thing. Just look at John Elway and Eli Manning, they eventually got what they wanted. Russell needs to book the first plane out of Oakland and he knows it.

His agent is waiting to see how much all the other first rounders are signing for, so that he can gauge what the 1st pick is worth this year.

It would be nice for all the other teams if the 1st pick was signed first, but it just doesn't happen that way.

Personally I think there should be a set wage for these guys. 1st pick, 3 mil/yr 4 years.. 2nd pick 2.5 mil/yr and so on. The Agents would certainly hate this, but it would be best overall for everyone else involved. No camp holdouts! your pay is already set.

its definatly money, in most cases the first overall pick is not signed untill mid to late august. Theres only been 5 first round picks signed, usually players wait to get more money

Its always money when its the #1 pick...They figure they are going to the worst team when they are #1...Thats how the draft works...Anyway, it has also been reported that they haven't been able to reach an agreement...

well yeah, it would be unusual if he were signed by now, only a handful of first rounders have signed thus far. if you no anything about this kind of stuff you'd realize it's like this every year.
