You can't get any deeper then that. If you look objectivly at the question you can come some intersting stuff.

To make sure we are on the same page, the word objective means looking at the situation as if you were a third person looking down at everything. While subjective means looking at the situation as if you were the person being observed (in this case, you).

The objective meaning of life is: there is no meaning. It is hard for most of us to swallow, but it is true. The question itself is flawed. In order for there to be an overarching meaning in life there must be someone giving it meaning.
Without any bias or preconseved notions about reality, look at the world around you. Imagine you were just born but had the facility to process information like you do now. Basicly an adult human that has not been conditioned at all by the world. If you were to look at the world around you you would see that the only meaning anything has is the meaning you assign it. Therefore all meaning in the world is dervied not from anyone or anything else (like a higher power) but from you. You are the master of the world around you.

Close your eyes and nothing exists. Listen to your refrigerator run for a minute. Close your eyes and understand that the only reason the sound your mind processes is called "the refigerator" is because it seems to be coming from the same spacial position. The sound you hear is not "the refigerator" it is just a sound. The only meaning anything has is the meaning you give it.

The subjective meaning of the is the only meaning of life.

Good luck on your search for Truth.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Yes I think that life for repeat offenders is good.I mean cause most of these murders could have been prevented if the killers would have stayed in jail. I can relate to the victims families. My friend was killed in 1997 and they have no leads. An I know sometimes the jury lets them off but come on if the guy or girl killed more than once you know hes going to do it again.

I still am asking myself the same question, I think the meaning of life changes as we change, as we grow, first physically then mentally, from children to adults the meaning of life changes depending on your age.... life will always be a growing experience.
I think the concept of life involves a good education, then finding a good career that you enjoy, finding the right companion, having beautiful children and fulfilling your destiny together. I wish you well in your own search...everyone has there own meaning of life. Good luck.
