The Simpsons is the longest running cartoon series yet and the 4th or 5th series in general to have run over 10 years. The Simpsons as of 2007 has 400 episodes exact with a new season coming this Septhember giving it 422 episodes to date. The Simpsons celebrated it's 18th aniverseary this summer. Which means that The Simpsons has been running for 18 years (not counting it's apperance in The Tracy Ullman Show). The Simpsons record of episodes has only been broken by a few hit TV series like Days Of Our Lives or Dr. WHo and Law and Order.

There are 400 Simpsons Episodes and They Are Just Going on to there 19th Season since 1987 when the tracey ullman show started and when the very first simpsons episode on december 21 1991 ;)

552 episodes currently, across 25 seasons (1989-). The longest running american animated sitcom in the world. The first 16 seasons are available on box set, Along with Season 20. with Season 17 to be released on box set in late 2014. And Seasons 21-25 are all available for digital dvd download.
