I saw on a baking show once a guy made his own molds by mixing some things and pouring them over this womans broach, since she wanted a candy broach just like it in her wedding cake. Well id like to make my own molds, what do I need to make them and where would I be able to find the materials?

All 2-part silicone molding materials may be "food safe" but at least one of the ones listed on this page at my site definitely says it is:
http://glassattic.com/polymer/molds.htm
(... click on "2-Part Putties"...)

Two-part silicone molding materials are great for smaller things like jewelry, etc., since they can get expensive in larger amounts... for larger things, you might want to look into latex and other rubber molding materials.
Two-part silicones can capture a lot of detail though, compared to some other molding materials... they also set up fairly quickly, and cure flexible.

(There's loads more info on the different brands and how to use them on the page I linked to above.)

This site will teach you everything you need to know about silicone mold making. I'm not sure if these method would make a mold that is food safe. Check the directions carefully.

Here you are: http://www.culinart.net/silicone.html
Instructions and materials.

By the way, also have a look at the kneadable versions of the rubber. Those have the advantage of not having to mix the components in a container first which tends to be messier. And you can easily pack and take it anywhere which is great for shows.
