I see what you're saying. Yeah, it's tough. The real deal is this if you know what you're doing, sometimes is easy to concentrate through the day. But if not, most people just play sick and go home for the day and try to come back with a fresh mind the next day. Most time your manager tend to be on your back breathing down your neck on hourly and daily basis till things gets mild. That's how they work -- managers. Not that they really do much to help you at all, but aggravate you to death and then some more till things get to be over critical so they can come up with ideas that you need a helping hand which never really solve anything but complicates things even further. And still yet, if you know what you're doing you'll never let situation becomes critical. Good enough, yes?

No one can work unless the situation is critical. If you have watched, you might have seen some hard working people eat very fast for leaving for their work. The work is in a critical situation and they eat with the attention to their work. Critical situation is like that. If the situation is going to be out of control, it can be called 'critical'. Get the situation in control is to be trained under a better matured person. Work / live with such a person for some time and take the bridals in hand and you can see how simple the situation, without leading it to critical.
