The problem is, of course, women change their name when they get married. I've tried internet services, using her first name and birthdate, and wrote to all the results. But no luck. I am older and in a place in my life where I would just like to see her again, not disrupt the life she has. Any ideas?

The best idea, if it applies, is high school and college reunion Web sites. In high school, reunion.com and classmates.com cover the situation pretty well, and you might get an idea that way. Many colleges have alumni directories on line.

You no doubt know the potential dangers here, so tread lightly.

The answer lies within you. You cannot change her. All you can do is deal with you. Go figure you out. Go to Landmark Forum or something, and figure out what you want in life
