I put a piece over a hole about 3 inches in diameter in my house siding and spray painted it white..and that's been over 5 years ago and if you're not up close you'd never know it's there.

Duct tape. One of mankind's greatest inventions. Yes, I've used it for patching the siding too. I put it over a hole in the side of the truck and painted it, too. It didn't last as long as the patch on the house but it lasted awhile.

Holding up a suit pant hem.
I was stepping out of the door to go to a job interview and i realized the some hem from the suit pant leg was coming down. I didn't have time to hem it up...and I didn't have anything else pressed to wear. So I took some duck tape and taped up the hem from the inside. It was a temporary fix and no one ever knew.
Duck tape is great!! I agree!

Used to drive a flatbed tow truck. Got a call that a boat trailer had the u-bolts holding the axle in place had broken and the axle was loose. We were able to put the axle in its proper place and I used duct tape to hold it in place when I put the trailer on the bed of my truck.
Also used it to fix a flat tire on my bike when I was younger..lasted 3 weeks.

back when I was in school and had to write stuff like "I won't talk with out permission" 500 times. I duct taped to pencils together to write it double time.
