Bought 48 1/8 lbs. of wax = 385/8
Wax for one candle = 5/8
no. of candles =385/8 / 5/8
=77 candles

convert 48 1/8 to 8ths .48times 8 is 384/8+1/8=385/8divide by 5 =77

1/8lb = 2oz therefore 5/8 lb = 10oz.

Bought 48 x 2oz = 96oz, use 10oz to make 1 candle...
...96 divide by 10 = 9 full sized candles plus 1 candle 3/5 or 60% or even .6 of the full size.

Everyone else seems to have read your question as 48lbs plus 1/8lb. I read it to mean 48 lots of 1/8 lb therefore take your answer with the right question in mind.

lets see 48 1/8 make that into a improper fraction which will be 48*8 times 1 over 8 then times that by 5 and theres ur answer
