Ok, you have grandparents, right? And there's a good chance that from those grandparents, you have cousins. Now, you are different from your cousins, right? You have a similar family tree, but you're not the same. Maybe you look a bit a like, or have other family resemblances, but you're different. Now, if you go back to your great grandparents, there's even more people in that family tree. The further back you go, the less resemblance you have. The existence of these cousins doesn't make you question your linage.

The idea that species change over time is even accepted by the Catholic church, I'm sure you can continue to find ways to believe in your faith in the light of scientific evidence. If it could survive the discovery that the universe does not actually revolve around the earth, it will survive the understanding of how our species came about.

An apostrophe is not required to form the plural. Use of an apostrophe puts the noun into the possessive case.

Your question is among the class of frequently answered questions and is a standard one from the odd world of creationism. If evolutionists developed from creationists, why are creationists still here? If Australians came from Britain, Europe and Asia, why are there still people in those places?

It might have something to do with common ancestors and by the way, apes are not monkeys. Apes are usually larger and smarter. Humans and modern apes had common ancestors. However it appears that creationists are recently and directly descended from monkeys. On the other hand, monkeys are not habitual liars like creationist leaders.

If Australians and Americans are descended from Europeans, why are there still Europeans?

-
We're descended from an isolated population of monkeys; an isolated population of apes; and an isolated population of Europeans. The main populations, and other populations, had different selection pressures on them and evolved differently. Being a monkey or an ape or a European was good enough for a lot of populations to survive and reproduce in their environments.

=
Correcting misconceptions of the responders above, we are indeed descended from apes and monkeys. Our ancestors from the time monkeys arose 'til about 23 million years ago were monkeys. Our ancestors from about 23 million years ago 'til about seven million years ago were apes.

Because, like humans, the modern monkeys and apes also evolved from earlier monkeys and apes, but clearly in different directions due to varying selective pressures and stresses.
Why do different species of cat exist? - Because they all evolved from earlier primitive cats. Lions did not evolve from tigers, did they?

You're going to need to read books to get your answer. Humans did not evolve from apes. We share a common ancestor with them. Think of it like a forked road. Humans on the right and apes on the left. It's more complicated than that but it's how I was taught to break it down.

Wrong frame of mind their.

See we did evolve from apes, but we aren't really supposed to be the end of the line. We are supposed to evolve again but technology has prevented this. They are here for the same reason were here. To reproduce and adapt. It's just that most animals adapt through evolution, however humans can adapt through technology.

Simple! Because it's not true! Researches found out that we really are relatives of Adam and Eve not of monkeys/apes.
In addition, it was also found out that pigs and us, humans, have similar genes. So don't be shocked if babies in the future will use pig's milk. Okey?

every species alive today shares a common ancestor, which is also alive today - the prokaryotic cell. when members of a species move away and evolve to different environments, they eventually become so different that they no longer resemble the species from which they came. this has gone on for billions of years resulting in the species of life on earth today.

Apparently, my dear, some of us didn't evolve. So, go on back to picking nits out of the coats of your relatives, and allow the rest of us to go on without having to answer this ridiculous question countless times.
