I'm going to be going to the Charleston auditions and want to know what I should be expecting. How many auditions there actually are and stuff.

the first answer should not be rude like that for someone that actually has the confidence to get up and TAKE that chance of humiliation.

what i have heard is not everyone actually see's the 3 judges. Other people come through the lines and tell you to sing a bit and either they tell you to go or stay. If you are good they let you through, also the "wierdos" that make good reality TV are also sometimes put through. GOOD LUCK!

Well, the official American Idol site for the Charleston auditions is http://www.americanidol.com/auditions/season7/charleston/

There is additional detailed information about the audition process under the FAQ section:

Well, you sign up, wait hours (more likely days) for your chance to sing before the judges while being videotaped the entire time in an effort at further humiliation. Good luck!

Atlashrugged---I wasn't trying to be rude. I was trying to point out what most people don't think about...the fact that the auditions are often an excuse to humiliate average joe's trying to prove their talent. THAT'S what you should prepare yourself for--the recap.
