Authors Peter D Ward and Donald Brownlee have written a book detailing how they feel the Earth will die (it is called "The Life and Death of Planet Earth"). They give these suggestions: (1) Planetary evolution will reverse itself and life as we know it will subside till only the simplest of life forms (like the amoebas) remain, and in time they also will die; (2)the oceans will evaporate; the atmosphere will degrade (aka no ozone layer to protect us at all) and as the sun expands, the earth will meet a fiery end; (3) all stars get brighter as they age and our sun has increased its output by 30 % since its origin 4.6 billion years ago; (4) as the carbon dioxide reduces because of no ozone layer, the increased heat from the sun will cause all plant life to die first, then animal life, our oceans will be gone, and finally ALL life will end on earth; and (5) our sun will enter a "red giant" phase and it will either envelop the earth or melt it like slag (aka liquid metal).
That is why we must concern ourselves now about global warming because if we don't, our descendants may have to find other planets to live on that will sustain life as we know it.
I've always had the theory that since God brought the earth in with a Big Bang, that He will take us out the same way (as in Genesis, Chapter 1).

Nothing.

The earth would lose the gravitational pulls it has with other planets and stars. I bet the universe would die with it.

the Earth would shut down, the plants would die, the animals, us....and the sun would have to die for the earth to die....so the sun is dead too....and we would be a run down lightless planet....with decaying matter all over the place
