You have an extra "o" in there. The word is pronunciation, which is pronounced like pro-nun-see-ay-shun.

This is a word that many people mispronounce, doing exactly what you did... they spell it wrong, and then pronounce it the way they've spelled it... wrong.

There are other examples of a word dropping a vowel in the change from verb to noun, although the only one I can think of offhand is "explain" and "explanation", where it loses the "i".

Take out the second O, and pronounce it as pro-NUN-see-a-shun. It is spelled pronunciation.

It's actually spelled just like it sounds: proNUNciation. No "o" in the middle.
