I suppose you mean "eulogy."
At a funeral, when someone stands before the mourners and gives a talk about the dead person, that's called a euology.
It's from the Greek for "good words", since what is said is mainly going to be good things about the deceased.

Do you mean eulogy?

It is the speech given at a funeral in honor of the deceased. It is usually given by a friend or family member (rarely a spouse, parent, or child, because they are too swamped with funeral arrangements and grieving to write one), and includes stories about what the deceased did in their life that made them who they are. It can be touching, funny, or both.

A EULOGY is what you are referring to and it means a high tribute or praise, either spoken aloud or written, given to someone at his/her funeral and usually given by friends or other family members.
