Well, you can try "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve. They start with an orchestral intro, then the actual band comes in. Also, there is Placebo's song "Every You, Every Me" with an awesome guitar intro. These songs are on the 'Cruel Intentions" soundtrack, which has a lot of great rock songs, in my opinion. I also like T.A.T.U.'s "All the Things She Said," which has a sort of club-themed intro. I can't describe the instrument. Hope I was helpful!

Very first one that comes to mind is "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who - who in fact have a great number of such songs with awesome intros.
And here's one no one else will tell you - Jeff Buckley, "Eternal Life". It's not an obvious choice, but it goddam f**king rocks.
