When you get up around 70 you do shy away from some things you might have gone head first into when young. Take YA, I sorta tip toed in instead of being the old curmudgeon I am, right away.

Yes, I get afraid of trying something new only to find out it was a bad choice. In games you get to do things over, but not in real life. You just have to take it and run with it.
Sometimes I get panic attacks thinking about doing something new or different. Like right now I'm trying to get myself on to a new job because mine is dead end and boring. I know I'd feel better if I moved on but taking that step is so hard.

^Sometimes, but it doesn't last and it makes life more interesting.
You probably don't remember, but when you first started to walk you fell down, and maybe you were scared and/or hurt, but you kept at it, that goes for most things in life.

yes i think that is human nature .we tend to want to stay in our comfort zones. But its good to break out from time to time . Is there something specific your afraid to try? For me its ending a relationship....ive put it off way to long out of fear.
