It is a story based on a play by N. Richard Nash, I believe. It is about a place having a drought and a fellow, Lancaster, claiming to be a rainmaker comes to make it rain. She is a spinster living with her father and brothers. The story is an alegory the bringing of rain to the drought is a symbol for the bringing of love to the spinster. I can't remember the ending.
