Can anyone give me sources or links to show where executive orders are constitutional?

Or is the executive branch ignoring the constitution by making up laws without the legislative branch of government?

Old precedents on this one. Not something President Bush made up.

Are they unConstitutional? Good question! Sometimes old traditions get knocked down due to such questions, but the making up laws part? He isn't.

Worth asking. I doubt anyone can show where it is Constitutional. It's actually the responsibility of others to prove that it is unConstitutional. If you find that, you have the lever to end it.

Somehow I suspect this question has been asked a lot recently by experts to no effect. However, sometimes it is one person who starts things rolling...

there is a clear stipulation in the constitution of the United States and it's ammendments that deal with this. Often the executive branch uses it's executive power to push an agenda or uses a loophole in the constitution to accomplish the same goal

I wonder if there has ever been a president since Washington who didn't issue an executive order.

They aren't Unconstitutional per se. Individually they might breach the Constitution, but they're part of the fabric now, no getting around that.

The executive branch does not make laws, the legislative branch does.

Sometimes we have to have someone make a decision. That's what the president's job is. For the last few decades we haven't had one than can. They cower down to the "house" and/or the "legislature". Executive orders are not Un- constituional but they have to be scrutinized for effect. It's goofy. FYI...we had a 5 star General one time just to satisfy a foreign goverment. Can anyone tell me who that was?
