Mbuna from Lake Malawi, specifically, Auratus Cichlids. They are fascinating fish. I love watching them move in around their rocky homes. When I get the space to set up a take in the near future I am going to set me up a tank of Auratus Cichlids. Ever since I saw a mother with several fry at the local fish store I have wanted to get some of my own and even try my hand at breeding them.

There are way too many to list. I like the peacocks the best of the Old World cichlids. I like them because they don't get crazy like the red zebras and other mbunas and because their colors are insaine. I have about 25 favorite New World cichlids, and I could go on for hours about them.

Any Shell Dweller. Their personalities are just too unique. How many other Cichlids do a dance to warn other fish of their territory (keep in mind, these fish are hardly 2 inches long). You can't dislike a fish that buries a shell in the sand to keep their mate safe...

As a group, I like apistogrammas. They are small peaceful and can be either in a small species tank or part of a community tank or peaceful fish. Further more, they will readily breed in both situations and that's something I like in a fish.

Pseudotropheus saulosi.
Both males and females are very colorful. They are peaceful as far as mbuna go and show a lot of personality. They are also very easy to breed.

i like oscar fish. they are agressive but also dossile. they are also verry smart. i have tought mine to do flips, jump up out of the tank and get food, they follow your finger and ive tought them and they eat out of our hands so i had to teach them not to bite so hard. theese fish also dont need much training to teach them eather. they also poo near the filter for some reason and that helps my maintnance of the tank. and not to mention it i dnt even really have to buy their food. they eat vertually everything that lives in my yard. frogs, crickets, ants, flys, and more. and when i come near the tank they actualy reconize me (i read it on the niternet and doughted it but then i realized they actually do reconize me)

Firemouths. Streamlined, great colors... prettiest freshwater fish in my opinion. Jack Dempsey is cool as well. I had one bigger than my hand.
I do not like parrot fish, and I do not like convicts or jewels, and to tell you the truth I prefer South American over African.
