Yes, you can do it yourself - but you'll need to rent a cement mixer. If you're not accustomed to doing plaster work (and I assume you're not or your wouldn't be asking), be warned, your shoulders will feel like they're going to fall off by the time you're done.

(interesting term, "render". here in the states it's called "stucco")

I agree with Jeffe. Render certainly isn't a word used to define the process in the states.
CAN YOU? SURE! It Might not be accomplished at the same level of success as if you had it done professionally? One can only guess. You might take some time to actually view the process as done by professionals, and judge whether or not it seems viable for you, a DIY.
Certainly having a constant supply of materials at the ready, mixed in the right proportions is essential. Attaching a mesh over the entire area to be worked, will likely help. Having help, period, would be advisable.
Without question, a daunting task for a DIY or anyone inexperienced.

In Australia we call it render & i recomend that you call the proffesionals to do the rendering on your house because you need a very steady hand so that the wright amount of render goes onto the wall or else you will get a belly on your wall witch it won't look very nice but if you want to diy well you can get already made render in buckets all you need to do is just add water & mix & just start from the top & work your way down

It is possible yet advised to hire a professional. Proper mixing is important for strength and longevity. Many building codes need to be followed. And most importantly, many workers are needed to do different jobs in a timely manor before cement hardens. Any mistake of any kind could result in a total loss of money, time, and of course labor of removing faulty cement.

yes you can render or stucco your house yourself. but you'll need a couple different triel's to do so .and you can use a 5 gallon bucket to mix it in also so you can cut cost down instead of renting a cement mixer.

You need screen properly attached and then a crew to mix and apply over the screen--with the proper mix. hire it out, There is a fake looking compound that they use--lightweight and easier to use--cheaper too. looks like and feels like cement
