"Norman who? Few news organizations covered last week's Congressional Gold Medal ceremony for Borlaug, which was presided over by President Bush and the leadership of the House and Senate. An elderly agronomist doesn't make news, even when he is widely credited with saving the lives of 1 billion human beings worldwide, more than one in seven people on the planet."

I haven't heard of this guy who save a billion lives, but it seems like I hear about Paris Hilton and now Lindsey Lohan every day. I think it's sad.

:(

Wow...I feel terrible that this is what it's come to. A celebrity getting high and going to rehab is covered more than a man who saves a billion lives. I for one don't want to hear about all of this. Tons of people are making the same stupid situations as Lohan and whoever, it's nothing new. They're just celebrities. I really think this has gone to far.

That's a good man there. He refused to read a story about Lohan. I admire him.

I never heard of it before either, but it is sad. I enjoy some celebrity's, and I am a fan of many, but it's ashame when they can put celebrity's in the news but not the things that really matter. When we stop reading about Paris and Lindsey, then they won't print them stories, but i don't see it any time soon

I absolutely agree with you. Unfortunately the media doesn't believe we need real news, just more fluff about some stupid celebrity. I would like to know what is going on in the world, not some (who I will never meet) celebrity who pays a publicist to keep them in the limelight so they can have popularity. If the news stations would focus more on the news and less on entertainment, we might know who the people are who effect our everyday lives.

I totally agree with you.. i see more about those spoiled brats than i do about the ones who have died in Iraq.. its very sad and disrespectful.. I am so tired of hearing about those girls. On the front page u see Lindsay jail photo and then turn to page 6 and there is a small story of a solider who was killed.. makes me so sick...

It's sad, but ignorance is bliss.

Most of the people in this world are happy to know nothing about anything. I think they feel better knowing other people's lives are worse off than their own...
