i just think that holden caulfield is a wonderful name.

i might just give holden to my kid as a middle name and caulfield to another as a middle name.

I love Holden, but Caulfield sounds too much like a last name.
Maybe one of these...
Holden Carter
Holden Caleb
Holden Spencer
Holden Bryce
Holden Rhyse (reese)

I think that it is really great when people have a story behind their name, and I think Holden Caufield is a great character. I think that if you like it, go for it. At least then your son(s) will have a meaningful name and not just some random name that you picked out of a baby book because everyone in the family agreed on it. I was named after Laura Ingalls Wilder, and I've never once been made fun of for it.

why not name him holden caulfield (your last name)? The only thing is, imagine how weird he'll feel in class when they're reading the book?

Holden yes, Caulfield no. It does flow well together, but Cauflfield sounds like a last nime to me. If you like it, go for it.

holden is really cute but I don't think he's going to like caulfield when he's older! If you want it though go for it!

I have read The Catcher in the Rye at least once a year for two decades. ... I'd love to name a little boy Holden, but I don't think I'll get the chance.
Go for it!

I think Holden is a bit strange, makes me think cars and hold'n something.
Caufield is strange too, but so is Garfield, and look at all the money he has made (the cat).
I think as middle names they are fine.
