Mosquito larvae are an excellent food for many fish, especially insectivores like bettas, guppies and other top water fish. Like any other food however, they should not be the only food you feed. Feed them in conjunction with a good stale food and other live or frozen foods. During the summer I grow my own in buckets and freeze any excess in old frozen food packages for the winter when there aren't any larvae to collect. Free fish food is always a good thing :)

Bloodworms are not mosquito larvae, those are the larvae of a small midge fly.

Mosquito larvae is probably the most widely accepted form of fish food available. Any place on the planet that has mosquitos has fish that eat mosquito larvae. It is a basic form of protein and nutrition, and is a food that almost any fish will eat. Algae eaters, goldfish, even African cichlids love it. It may not be the best food for the long term for any fish, but it is still a good food.

Mosquito larvae or "blood worms" are sometimes an essential diet of many fish. In pet stores they will come in frozen cube packs like that dentyne ice gum where you pop it out of foil. They are frozen to kill the parasites that might be in them and also for convenience, but make sure you thaw the cube before you feed it to your fish. I own pirhanas and cichlids and feed them both these cubes daily. Hope this helped!
