For starters Amnesty Mel Martinez needs to resign as RNC chair. Second those who called us bigots and racist need to apologize or tossed from office in the primaries and replaced with strong principled Republicans. Third we need to openly come out for a strong defense of our nations borders and for no amnesty for illegals and in so doing fully supporting legal immigration. Fourth stop spending like drunken sailors (democrats). Fifth say no to this global warming bs. Sixth No universal health care I do not wish to be in a party that denegrates and calls me racist or bigot because they want to destroy America and I say no.

As a Split Party Ticket Voter, I have to say Bush and Company have done much damage to the party. A movement of people are now voting against Republicans instead of actually looking at the issues.

I left a few Republicans out myself because I don't vote for people who support a President...I vote for people who support the citizens of the USA interest. On the local level, elected Republican officials that spent more time defending the Bush Administration than they did working on the issues didn't get my vote again...especially when they were still insisting the Bush's programs worked when they didn't.

On the National level: the No-Child-Left-Behind Education Reform was statistically a disaster, Healthcare Issues were only partially addressed, Immigration-build a fence and they won't come?, Corporate interests were favored in this Administration while individual citizens interest were not protected (outsourcing hurts-globalization needs national planning in favor of our Democratic nation--not capitalism.)--Lobbying Policies and Practices need major reform.

If I didn't like the tax cut program, don't spend your time as a Republican politician telling me why I'm wrong and your right....because that makes it seem the Republican Party wasn't listening to the Nation...only those who supported THEIR President, not the views of the people who got them elected...(And by the way, He is the President of ALL USA citizens...this nation was NOT his private company.)

I'll Shorten my answer by cutting to the major reason...this (oil) war (as it is now lcommonly perceived) became increasingly unpopular. The Decider became the Divider.

What would get me to reconsider? If you don't know what I think by now...this was just another mute attempt to be heard and respected by the Republican Party. But listening just enough to get a party re-elected isn't going to be enough this time. When the general public actually pays attention to politics, the self-serving insincere don't have a chance.

Thanks for your question. I hope the answers you get provide some insight into the soul of our Nation. Chainsaw, it needs some healing. Some relationships have been fractured. As a Split Party Ticket Voter, I see pain, anger, distrust, and fear on all sides. Let's roll up our sleeves for more than just photo-ops!

Romney being president.

Seriously though, they need to prove that they will spend less, keep taxes low, get rid of the corruption in the party. Basically, be all the things they say they are. A majority of Americans are right leaning, there is a reason the GOP has won so many elections with the media being completly against them, people agree with the GOP stances. But their actions have shot themselves in the foot.

I need to hear the Republican nominee for Prez say that the Bush v. Gore decision by the Sup. Ct. was a total fiasco; that the Court needs to have Justices who will behave better than to rule the way that they did.

If no Republican can or will say that, then like Nikita said: screw voting.

True conservatism! The American people are conservatives for the most part and they want a conservative government. All we have now is a bunch of liberals and moderates. Where are the true conservatives?

well the entire republican party could learn to grow more of a spine and start defending their peers

look at the democrats, you attack one of them you have a whole field of sharks that will do anything to take you down.
