I think that with the stuff we hear in the news, its okay to be aware of our surroundings. But it's not normal to live in fear, you must enjoy life and try to keep the negative thoughts out. It's easier said than done, you are going to need professional help to over come your fear by facing it little by little, but I don't think you need any pills to beat your fear. Best of wishes.

I think in some sense it's pretty unusual. People your age tend to go out alot. If it might be with their friends, or parents or girlfriend and so on. Teenagers feel the urge to try exploring aspects in their life. And I think that you would agree that a normal 16 year old kid just wants to have fun.

To be honest with you, you may experience a fear of going out(which is actually a word for it but I forgot). If you feel scared every time you go out(more than usual) then it sure can be something. Also, we(people) don't feel scared unless we feel that we have the right to protect ourselves.

PS: It's probably in your head. Also, how long has this been going on for you???? Is it just recently or a while back??? Ask yourself this kind of questions to determine whether you may have a disorder. But I do think that it's in your mind and since you're young still, you haven't come to realize your fears.

No that's not right, you may need to be put on Xanax or something you may have anxiety or something. You should see your doctor or a doctor that can look at you and see if perhaps a psychiatrist could help. I don't mean you are crazy, I am just saying that they deal with this type of thing as well. It could be a great benefit to you.

Sounds to me like you need to start facing your fears. Once you see that you can walk down the street without getting hurt or something, life gets alot easier. Trust me on this one.

well i think it depends on where you live and where you were raised like if you lived in the subberbs and then moved to a big city that might seem scary but just remember no ones out to get you everyone is just doing there own thing. if you make yourself scared then it just makes you a more likely target for bad attention. i hope you overcome your fear.

Yes, it's abnormal. Get help at the psychiatrist's office. It can be changed.

It's not unusual.
Most modern streets were not built with the pedestrian in mind.
