why do candidates like Ralph Nader even bother to run for president? dont' they know what an enormous waste of time and money it is? nowadays, the president will either be a Republican or a Democrat, and nothing else, so why even bother, third party candidates don't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning

You are in error. We third party constituents realize that our candidate probably won't have the support to get elected. We know that the two major political parties are bought and controlled by Corporate America, but we also know that if the voice of Americans will be heard it will be heard through us. We also know that the Dems and Reps have to acknowledge us and at least address a few issues that we stand for or lose votes. We know that we're a thorn in the side of lobbyists and special interest groups and that they have a fear of our receiving attention on their superficial politics. Did you know the Green Party does NOT accept any contributions from corporations? We may be small and you may not like our positions but by god you know exactly where we stand!

Because it leaves an opportunity to vote for those who have not been bought and paid for by corporations and globalism and many Americans are fed up with the 2 parties. I vote Libertarian because the rest of the Presidential candidates in the 2 parties suck and are some of the biggest jokes we have had running for President in years.

We need honesty in government and it is lacking in the bought and paid for Dem/Rep government. There hasn't been an honest man in the White House since Carter. He wasn't much of a president but was an honest man.

I dunno, except that they want to screw things up for the other two who do run.

If you want an example of multi-party governments (More than 2, that is) just take a look at Israel, Great Britain, even Canada, as they struggle to find some mix of a majority coalition between all the different struggling factions! And you think politics in the USA is "FUN" NOW!!?!?!?!

They have the right to run like any other party. They have been known to push one part into winning by taking votes away.

They raise issues that would otherwise be ignored by mainstream candidates; we should have even more of them.
