HI There ... i bet you are sick of the sharp comments regarding ropes line and rode from the people here... Yep its hard when you are new and you get the smart a*** who know it all..
OK .. the boat isn't all that big and if you go to a local marina they will advise you.... You could go to west marine too get the size then get it from walmart... Oh the thought of it... The know alls will be creaming me for getting line ropes and rode from walmart...
I can tell you are new to boating.. you need t get a simple book too to read the basics... I have been boating for years... boats ranging from a 12ft Jon to 21ft center console..
I bought boating for dummies.. it tells you all the basics and what you need to be safe. It tells you the rules of the waterways and also the marine names for things such as ropes lines ...
I advise you to get the book then when you ask a question the smart A*** Know alls will leave you alone...
Good luck with your new boat!!!
BTW when you go out always always have a check list before you put the boat in the water at the top of the list put check boat drain plug is in !!!

"ACK" It's "LINE" NOT ROPE ! You'll get "Keel hauled" for saying "ROPE" ! (we're just teasing you like we got teased for calling it rope when we were new). 1/2" Nylon "LINE" is what's used. Take a 1 day ABC course offered by the coast Guard aux. it teaches the basics, and will have you "certified" giving you a 20% discount on insurance (it pays for itself). The USCG offers a free "VSC" (Vessel safety check), they will check out your boat to make sure that all safety system's are in good working order. Don't worry if the boat doesn't pass, they give you a list of what you are short on, you get it at the marine store, they come back, "Pass" the boat, and give the boat a sticker of passing the safety inspection. They are really "COOL", and helpful, It's a "courteousy check" that you called them in for, there is NEVER any record of your boat, or any information on it is ever given to any law enforcement agency, it is purely set up for YOUR safety, they are some very nice folks with a lot of boating experiance, they are only trying to keep you safe on the water, NOT get you in trouble !

Why do people insist on calling lines, ropes? You use rope to hang someone, lines are used to moor a vessel. Small stuff should work with a 19 ft. boat. .5" to 1", something like that.

Check your cleats in see if 7/16 or 1/2 as some cleats are small. Also once the rope is on the boat it's caller line not rope.An anchor line is called rode.Happy boating.

binder twine - and bubble gum
7/16" is all you'll need for a small boat.
