Love it! I actually think of Emilia as a classic spelling, just as elegant and graceful as Amelia.

Actually (according to behindthename.com), Amelia is a variation of Emilia! Emilia is a feminine version of Emil (from the Roman name Aemilius), and it's used with Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, Finnish, Polish, Scandinavian, and Slovak. Amelia is the variation used with English, German, Spanish, and Portugese. I come from an area settled by a lot of Italian, Polish, and Slovak people, so maybe that's why I'm more familiar with Emilia.

I think Emilia would be great!! Just think , you could even call her Emy for short , and it would be sooo cute! Plus your switching a somewhat common name up a little bit, like how my parents named me Ronda, instead of Rhonda. I really like it , another example of that is My friend Jazmen, ussually this name is spelled Jasmine, and by changing the spelling of the name , it just makes it even more special. Also here I am trying to find a name for my baby girl, and I'm due in 4-6 weeks!!! I might not even name her until she is born , some ideas I have are Azure Rain , or Hope, I love the name Alexa, the Dad wants to name her Kimberly, but I want to be absolutely sure on the name when i find it, and it has to fit in with My first Daughter's name Nova Celeste, and my neice Avery. Thats why I liked Azure, if you or anyone has any ideas let me know . Thankyou, and good luck!! Bless You

It is a nice name. It isn't an original name, but it is different. Emile was the name of a Roman General. So Emilia is the feminine version.

I don't know if you know this but in Spanish Emilia is Emily and you spell it Emilia. My grandma-in-law's name is Emilia and so is my sister in law's middle name.

It's a pretty name and few people probably have it spelt that way.
