1. Usually no, if it's a warm sunny day I let them walk. Actually did pick up one older man was about 65 or 70 and gave him a lift, and one guy in the winter. 2. Always take a hard look first, and do not stop quick. 9 out 10 I do not. Do I NO, I have only had to walk a highway twice when I broke down. Once was for 10 miles but I made it home myself.

Yes in my younger days. In used to be alright to pick up hitch
hikers.

not a hitchhiker so to say..but these 2 little old black ladies were broken down on the side of the road,i stopped and asked if they needed a phone..they asked for a ride home,like 10 mins away...i said ok,because they seemed harmless....they were dressed up like church ladies and all. the one pulled a big 40 oz malt liquor out of her purse and started drinking it in my back seat - i about died - they were cussing etc - it was so funny. they invited me in for supper - i declined. the whole thing was just crazy...especially to me cause i was 16 at the time. they had their grandson lead me out to the main rd cause i couldn't remember how to get back....=) btw,i will never pick anyone else up - that was a one time deal.

A long time ago. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen a hitchhiker around these parts for several years.

no, and even if I wanted to, Hollywood made it so that no one would ever pick one up again.
I like to read their signs though. Normally their all the same, but today on the way to work, their was one with a sign that read "My wife had a better lawyer"

Yes, a few times, woman and youngish girls who were walking in what i thought was dangerous areas. Once I guy and I don't know why, because I was young and stupid I think. I would never, ever do that now.

Not really.
Though I have picked up people I know who are walking and look like they are tired.
Nowdays most people are out there walking because they need exercise so I don't even stop and bother them anymore.
