425miles-45miles=380 miles
380/(45+50)=4 hours
10:00+1h+4h=3:00 pm

Hello
The two must go the same distance to meet so d1 = d2. Now d1 = 45t where t is the time traveled and d2 = 50(t-1) as he left 1 hour later so we have 45t = 50(t-1) or 45t = 50t -50 so t = 10. Now if Mika travels at 45 miles per hour for 10 hours he has gone 450 miles and therefore they will never meet.

Hope This Helps!
