Does hooking up mean kissing or something else. I'm 28 and I hear some of the younger kids saything this and I have no idea what they are talking about.

It pretty much means "have sex", a quickie or a roll in the hay or makin' a night of it...however they do it...it means getting together for the purpose of getting physical. Usually much more than just kissing. Some people mean it just in terms of getting together to go do something--movies, a meal...but that's usually when people who've known each other and haven't seen each other in a long time say it...When strangers use it...it means with someone they barely know, just met, or have admired from afar.

well now a days hooking up usually refers to a one night stand...never a serious relationship...
something like friends with benefits but hooking up has wayyyy less emotions involved.

or
it could also mean asking a group of friends to hang out somehwere.
