Glad you brought this up:
1.) To think that Africa would be exactly the same after something huge as the Europeans coming over is ludicrous. There was a book in which a boy went into the fast and all he did was kill a butterfly and the whole entire future was changed so you can't possibly think Africa would be the exact same way.
2.) There is a theory that if the Trans Atlantic slave trade had not taken place the world would be a better place
3.) One cannot say that Africans would not be over here. Africans had been to the Americas even before Christopher Columbus. There was ancient pottery found of an elephant in the Americas and where do elephants originate from?
But not to worry you're just 15, you still have a lot of learning to do...

Let me let you in on something. I'm from Africa myself like the rest of my family. Adopted father was the son of former slaves. If this is what America has to offer, then I rather be back in Africa spitting up blood right now. A decent exchange? It's not an exchange if I didn't get anything in return. Yea, we got our freedom, but did we really? No because we're still fighting over racial acts and discrimation. No apology or saying your sorry is going to wipe away over 100 years in enslavement. Plus, its not just the blacks, but also the Spanards from before us and even some Native tribes. This has gone too far and we need to stop actin childish and wake up. The world could be a lot better

If it wasn't for America's first settlers and int'l explorers of the 13-1400s, people may well be anywhere on the planet, or, even worse, all centered on two or three continents. It's not like whites saved the world... (PLEASE don't take that in an offensive way)
On the other hand, had that happened, Africa probably would be up to par with every other country because of the number of people, and the amount of migration from overpopulated Europe and Asia, therefore increasing the world's concern for a now suffering continent...

Even considering your age, your logic is very, very warped. You call 350 years of slavery and oppression a 'decent exchange'?
Life isn't anywhere NEAR as simple as you think it is. Keep living. Eventually, you'll come to understand that.

Im not thankful for how I was brought here...but yeah I think it's better than living in Africa for the most part. There is a lot of poverty there and a lot of women who get raped...and then the diseases? forget it!

Absolutely not! I can't say for sure how life would be if my ancestors hadn't been slaves, but I know I'm not thankful for them being enslaved and America is still racist so what am I being thankful for?
