I was thinking of buying the guild wars game. And My computer is a dell dimention 2400 and it just got rebooted and cleaned. I have pretty fast internet. If I buy the game will it run fast? I got the sims 2 before and It was slow so i returned it, but that was before we got the computer cleaned out.
SO my question is:
Will guild wars run slow on my computer? How can you tell?

Guild Wars is pretty good to all computers, I play the game on high settings with a mediocre computer that I've had for 5 or so years.

The system requirements are very low for this game your computer should be able to run it fairly well and from what you say your internet speed is pretty fast which will also speed up the game.

I also have a Dell 2400 and Guild Wars runs fine on my computer. Check the minimum system requirements on the box and see if you meet all of them.

I only had 1 issue. the Dell 2400 does not have a video card in it, nor does it have a video card slot. I tried running GW on the embedded card, but had massive lag issues. I was able to buy a PCI video card for one of the PCI slots. They aren't as good as a dedicated video card slot, but they work well enough for me. If you don't know how to shop for a card, just get one of the clerks in a major computer store to help you. Most of them are knowledgable and can help you find one that's compatible for your system.

Once I changed the video card, I couldn't believe the difference in the game. It was wonderful!!

You can start with any of the 1st 3 games as they are all independent of each other. If you're into a mix of PvP and PvE (player vs player and Player vs environmnet) Then the 1st game prophecies would probably be best for you as it has a good balance of both. If you're a PvP only then Factions would be the right campaign for you and finally, if you're mostly a PvE kinda person Nightfall would be the way to go. There is one other expansion called Eye of the North however to play that one you must already have one of the 1st 3 campaigns to play it. Once you've downloaded the software and opened your account with the CD key, all your information is stored at the server which allows you to DL the software to any computer and play your account from anywhere there's a computer available for you to play... My personal favorite is Nightfall but again, the campaign for you would be the one with the best mix of your preferred playing style. Enjoy!

Guild Wars is being developed by ArenaNet, a subsidiary of NCsoft. Rather than have a continuous beta ArenaNet hold Beta weekends, where pre-ordered players and invited friends are allowed to test the game. This weekend was one such event and I was lucky enough to be invited along.

I played monk for a year or more before moving on to my Ele. I always try and defend the back line as well if I can, (PVE and PVP).

In RA/TA i'll blind the melee players first before attacking the softer targets to take pressure of the monk.

I think you have to have played a monk to appreciate this though.
