reasons: 1)present afghanistan is a truncated country. bifurcated by durand line deviding pashtoon in two halves.durand line is the last colonial remnant....... 2)huge amount invested by us is going to wrong hands,.....pakistan ..spent in the punjab and karachi. 50 percent pashtoon are out of their homeland due to poverty. poverty and crimes go hand in hand.....3) guns and arming pakistan will not solve the problems. social uplift, eradication of poverty.through uno with consultation of afghan, n.w,f,p. & balochistan govts. can eradicate this social evil. pakistan is a genetic enemy of pashtoons(afghans)

It fits Bush's agenda because if bin Laden were captured, he would be hard pressed to pursue his imperial agenda as forcefully as he has since 9/11/01.

It fits Musharraf's agenda to have an active Islamist threat in the country to keep attention off the fact that he seized power years ago and has yet to hold an election. They keep cancelling them due to the "state of emergency"

The U.S ignored the Taliban while perpetrating Iraqi Liberation/Iraqi Democracy hoaxes.
And...I will have to look into this...but overheard on Sunday morning news program that we are not very forthcoming when it comes to providing the Pakistanis with Intelligence.
If the Pakistanis are saying that they will act on intelligence then we should provide them with the intelligence.
We should give them benefit of doubt.
Pakistani Prime Minister said it loud enough.

If we do not.....
then we are DERELICT......AGAIN.
