Come on, be honest. I say Joe Montana, all though I was in diapers when he was winning Super Bowls.

I think Montana is the best QB ever. He won 4 Super Bowls. He had a very talented team around him. Montana had numerous winning 4th Quarter drives. He has a ton of heart and toughness. Also, he was a great leader and a classy guy.

It's Favre - he makes players better around him. You can also count on him to be there each Sunday. Problem is the medias been hyping his to retire or not to retire for years. All the guy did was answer the questions truthfully the last few years.

Go back and look at Favre's stats - 3 MVP's, 2 Super Bowls, 1 Championship and after this year all QB records.

Marino is second. Montana has the rings but he also had a great surrounding cast.

With 47+ years of watching the NFL here is the Top 5 I've had the pleasure to watch:
1) Elway
2) Marino
3) Unitas
4) Montana
5) Staubach

I do not measure greatest by the number of SB rings since Super Bowl victories are a team accomplishment. I rank these on pure QB skills and productivity.

Joe Montana is the best quarterback ever! He won 4 Superbowl's and 3 Superbowl MVPs. He won all those championship with different head coaches, different assistance coaches and with different players around him. I know there other QBs with better stats, but I have never seen anybody read defenses like he could. He was always calm under pressure. He was great!

I agree that Montana is up there. Marino if he had a superbowl but honestly I think Terry Bradshaw. He is one of two quarterbacks to win 4 superbowls. People say "oh how could he not succeed with the talent he had surrounding him" but he was a great quarterback. The defense kept teams down in scoring sure but look what happened with Kordell Stewart. He had great defenses but he could never win. Why? Because he wasn't great.

Bradshaw doesn't have the passing numbers of a Marino, a Manning or even a Montana but he figured out ways to win and got his team to four superbowls.

Jim Kelly - Buffalo Bills

I have never seen a tougher quarterback ever (he went back into a game with a broken collar bone). If he did not mess around in the USFL he would have held most of the passer records. No other quarterback in NFL history will ever take their team to 4 straight Super Bowls again. He had a great arm and was mobile enough to be a threat with hos feet without being run happy.

Peyton Manning; stats and a ring to add to but, even if he didn't have a ring he would still be the best ever. To me you don't always need a ring, because thats just a tip of the iceberg, in fact if tom Brady had not had 3 rings he would not be considered the best QB all-time all though he is a good QB.

Pure Passer Dan Marino. Winner, Montana or Brady. Heart, Farve. My personal favorite is Farve.

John Elway. He did lose 3 superbowls but the only person that was good was him. He carried the team. No other Quarter back did anything like him. Payton manning has to through the ball up and go let reggie or harrison go get it.

Brett Favre, Roger Staubach, Johnny Unitas - pick one and I won't argue.

Montana was great but overrated. I think I might have QB'd that team to a couple of titles. Plus he almost got beat twice by Bengals teams that weren't even very good.

How can anyone say Kelly was tougher than Favre? In college, Favre had a near fatal car crash. He lost most of his intestines. The doc says he will never play again. Less than two weeks later, he is leading tiny So. Miss to a big upset victory over National Title bound Alabama! NOTHING tops that!
