"Implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) began on January 1, 1994. This agreement will remove most barriers to trade and investment among the United States, Canada, and Mexico"

"It's not just American ports that are fast slipping into foreign ownership; it's highways, too. A Spanish company, Cintra Concesiones de Infraestructuras de Transporte, S.A., has bought the right to operate a tollroad through Texas and collect tolls for the next 50 years."

"Called the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC), on which construction is planned to begin next year, this highway would bisect Texas from its border with Mexico to Oklahoma. Hearings held by the Texas Department of Transportation this summer attracted hundreds of angry Texans."

if the n.a.union is going to imitate the european union to the letter, and it sounds like it is, the american people and their desires will have to be egnored, just like britains desires, so you need improvements to make it work without upsetting the people, that can be done without thatmuch difficulty, the bad part is when foreign trade takes preference to your own, its like loosing ground to a foreign force, if texas road biulders have no work while mexicans have then texas looses ground,
if its not offset native texans loos out, in britain they have used this to accomadate all alien businesses, britain has virtualy wiped itself out by giving too much ground
