What is Heaven like? If we no longer have any of our senses left to see or hear or to touch how do we know if we're in Heaven or not?

Dr.PillMD: Don't we dream by memory and imagination? That's also because of our brain, but what happens when our brain stops functioning? I'd like to know more about your thoughts

Our mind continues to work even without the brain. We meet our dead relatives and other sprits. We have a life review. We become cradled in unconditional love without any judgement (we judge ourselves). This occurs no matter if you are athiest or a believer.

I used to believe that nothing happened and we just ceased to exist. I have done years of investigation into this question and what I said above is the correct answer. Research it for yourself.

===========

Our brains don't function after we die. You may have noticed that science hasn't ever said where in the brain the mind is located. Our brains control our anatomy, mood, and access to our memories, but they do not control our will. The best I can determine, our brain works in tandem with our mind to provide us with our earthly experience. Our consciousness is a form of energy that coexists with our body. I do not know this part for sure, I am just guessing. Look up "out of body experience" on the internet.

Your brain ceases to get nutrients and cannot function therefore after a period of time it decays. All the thoughts, memories, and imprints of your surroundings decays with your brain therefore all the things that made you who you were goes with that.

So absolutely nothing happens.

Religion will tell you a fantastic tale of an afterlife ruled over by a magical being in this super awesome fantasy place for good people or a pit of suffering and eternal torture overseen by a evil, tyrannical, sadomasochist being.

Sounds very similar to something believed by ancient Romans and Greeks but we don't believe in any of their gods do we? Nope. Look a little deeper and you can see the obvious similarities of Christianity and the religions that came before it.

They all boil down to the same things. A big pot of BS.

Sorry to inform you, But I am a heavy believer in God and evolution. As many years of looking for facts I have come to the conclusion that here is no heaven. No one has ever returned from the after life. I have had near death experiences and the white light, just like dreams, is an illusion caused by your brain because of the position your conscience is in. Religion is a folklore, like greek mythology, just like indian tribe tales. We evovled and thats it. We're born, each day we we age, and we die. End of story. Im not god, but if it does exist, just like manson said: hope he has a sense of humour for my beliefs.

After death your body is being brought to the cemetery for burial or burnt if you wish too as your last will. Your body decays or burnt but there is something higher that this. Your spirit soars on because after death there is personal judgment, either the soul goes to heaven, hell or purgatory. In proportion of how you live your life here on earth is your life that you'll possess after your death. For the faithful soul, the enjoyment of the beatific vision in heaven is promised. While on the other hand the unfaithful soul will then be judged as unfaithful and the promise of unending punishment will be his lot. Purgatory then is a place of cleansing for those who need cleansing because heaven is the place of the pure in spirit.

ok maybe after you die, your body dies your brain still functions for what a couple seconds or something i dont know. maybe in the time your brain is still functioning you see your life in full detail all over again. maybe thats why you hear people say in near death situations (or just jokingly) "Wow, my life just flashed before my eyes!"

what do you think about that?

I think it is mostly based on your religious beliefs. I, as an agnostic, have no idea. I'll just hope (not pray) that it'll be something better than rotting in the ground. Heaven sounds nice, but I'm a bit skeptical...

When we die we go to the spirit world, where we live in either paradise or spirit prison. In paradise we rest and carry on the work of the Lord. In spirit prison we are preached the gospel. We have a choice to accept it or not to. I have a feeling good things are in store in Heaven.

All your systems are lost. No sense of life. It is the end of life. No more life to speak of. It decomposses after several days in the tomb unless preserved. It became dust.

I don't know what you believe, but I believe god has the power to do ANYTHING. I think we see him through a sense that we do not know of. I think we can see, hear, and feel heaven with our hearts and soul.
