That's what happened to me earlier this evening - no damage was done, though. I guess I shouldn't be so absent-minded!

Oh no!
I've boiled all the water off on accident, but never set a kettle with no water to start with.
I'm absent minded too, from time to time. LOL Glad you are OK!!

You must be related to my husband. One day he put the water on the stove for tea and then went out to mow the lawn. When he came back, he had melted down my favorite copper teapot! Luckily, he didn't burn the house down!
