a hundred pound bag of potatoes rest on the floor, making contact over an area of 100 inches square, what is the pressure between the bag and the floor?

100 inches square is not 100 square inches, but 100*100=10,000 square inches. So if you wrote what you meant, the pressure would be 100lb/10,000in^2 = 0.010lb/in^2.

... and if you actually meant "100 square inches", then it's

100lb/100in^2 = 1lb/in^2
